It's a Girl! Welcome my New Rose, Isabella Jurkiewicz.....

I created a new rose.  I am going to name her Isabella Jurkiewicz.  She is a climbing minature.  Her buds look purple like but she is more of a fuschia.   Yesterday, I was doing a lot of gardening (for once) and I came upon her.  I had tried to hybridize roses but came to no avail.  Then one day I saw her in a rose bush that I had moved.

Her parents I believe Johnnie Bear (this is really a gold medal rose) but it was my first rose in this garden and my husband bought it for me for Valentines day...  I call my husband, Johnnie Bear so I called the rose Johnnie Bear

So who is here momma?  Actually Johnnie Bear is but that didn't sound right.  She looks like Stormy Weather.  A purple climber at the museum.  I do believe that her her other parent.

She is obviously on her own root system.  She needs to be sprayed and pruned as all roses do but she is pretty hardy..and hopefully, a repeat bloomer like her parents.

 The rest of the rose garden seems to be taking off....I suppose today I will need to weed...I was gonna post what I did yesterday but when I saw Isabella...I starting jumping for joy...I created a new rose!

Thinking I'm finally getting the color I want to see.

Museum...well this is the butterfly garden that looks like a weedy mess but believe it or not it has flowers in it.

I don't think the area gets enough sun.

Despite the weeds there a ton of flowers growing as well.  Lantana, zinnia, cosmos, aster, potato flower are some that I recognize.

The camellia we transplanted doesn't look like it's gonna make but the hydrangeas I donated do.

These roses are miniatures that I take care of at the museum.  A few month's ago they were six inch twigs..so they are doing much better.

There is also a lacecap hydra and wisteria here as well.  I take care of them as incidental to the roses.

Some canes were up to the first bar but most were not.  The first bar is probably 3 feet high.

Now, it wants to touch the top.  The only reason it doesn't is because I try to beg them sideways.

The roses are incredibly fragrant.
