April Bloom Day

The most wonderful day of the year to me is April 16th.  Reason being is that I am a CPA and this time of year before that date can just be cruel, at times.  All that being said, I don't ever wish to miss bloom day even I have nothing to show.  If you are not familiar with bloom day, it's a day where garden blogger's around the world post what is blooming in their garden on the 15th of every month and post it on May Dreams Gardens....who is most awesome for hosting such a site.  I am afraid this day will be posted one day early for me, for aforementioned reasons.  The date reads the 13th but I took them on the 14th.  Gonna have to fix my camera (in addition to my garden).  So please forgive my posting a day early, but it is important to me to try to remember my garden for even passive reasons.

Fed the encores and they have once again shown their everblooming nature.

Iceberg roses are blooming, and evidently so are the pests.

A few days ago I saw my first hummingbird which is right on time with blooming of what I believe to be called crossvine?  This grows wild here.

Climbing golden showers

The liar...as I call this rose bush.  This is american blaze..but the first year it did nothing...in about a month it will be full blooms...but I always call it the liar because it didn't bloom much the first year.

Wisteria grows wild but I think its almost done

Azaleas, the tulips bloomed briefly but the daffodils do not appear to want to bloom, just grow.

Pinata rose...it starts out orange and then turns red

The rose garden is more weeds than roses but I hope to change it soon.

Azaleas, azaleas, azaleas everywhere

Greenhouse finally has been vacated.  I have so much still to put in the ground.

Camellias and azaleas amongst the weeds

Knockouts once again were the first to bloom

Back yard

I had a couple of pictures of the museum next door but this does not do it justice, I'm sure

I love that you have shown your blooms and your weeds. It makes me feel a lot better about the state of my yard, and I don't have tax season as an excuse!

Happy Bloom Day, and I hope you have a nice day off tomorrow :)

My cousin is an EA and I couldn't envision him ever blogging anywhere around Tax Day - I admire your dedication. Nice blooms, too. All that's blooming in upstate New York are the early crocuses. But give us another month....happy GBBD. Alana
