I have been noticing the tulip trees around here and they are stunning, aren't they? What a gorgeous, unassuming tree. And your mums are already blooming! How nice to cut some roses for your stepson. I bet it made his girlfriend's day. :)
Oh, I forgot to look at the tulip tree outside! So I went outside to look. Fewer blooms than usual but still striking to see. I always leave off things. There should be a 'Day after Bloom Day' for the blossoms that got left out. There is a foliage day after. I think it is on www.Penick.net.
You have a good assortment of blossoms. I haven't seen anybody else who has bougainvillea in bloom.
We are expecting 26º Saturday night, do you have a freeze warning too?
Hello from South Mississippi!
As I am also in zone 8b, we have many of the same things blooming here.
Happy GBBD!
Happy GBBD from upstate NY. It's nice to visit southern sites and dream of the day the flowers will start here - but not quite yet. Not quite yet....
Hi bookworm..I lived in south Ms for over 10 years...and graduated from Pass High, JD and Southern Ms....family live there...so we should be right on track since I'm less than 2 hours away...
@Lea...thanks...I was in a rush..too much to do today but I like bloom day..it lets me record what is blooming.
@Holleygarden..you know what weird tradition to give roses in valentine's day! Who thought of that? Roses aren't blooming that time of year...and I'm pushing zone 9...I also read that most roses delivered on V-day are from Equador...and that the roses love the altitude?? If you have ordered (or attempted to order plants) across the ponds...it literally takes an act of congress
Thanks Marsha...I am new to gardening and blogging so it took me a second to understand the acronym of GBBD...Garden Blog's Bloom Day is my assumption..
@Nell...I took your advice and smelled the tulip tree...they smell magnificent.
Opps..it was Marsha from southern ms and bookworm from upstate NY...if you saw what I did today you would understand my mistake...
