July Bloom Day

Weirdest thing I saw blooming is Wisteria.  I volunteer at a museum and I take care of the miniatures underneath this wisteria.  I didn't know wisteria bloomed this time of year.

Back Rose Garden - I have been working on a rose garden since December.  Everything looks a bit neglected ironically, but this is where it is now.

Bougainvillea

Hibiscus

Mums

Crepe Myrtle

Wax Begonias

Zinnias

Still screening a lot of areas

Front of the house

The hydras got a strong pruning a few days ago

Encores are blooming
Back Porch

Side yards

Magnolias are still blooming

I walk through a cemetery to go to the museum.  This mimosa is actually on our property.  I told the care takers they could cut the limbs that overhang.  They haven't gotten around to it yet.

Museum

I planted a butterfly garden for them.

Zinnias are starting to bloom in it.

Wisteria

Miniatures

I don't take care of these but I wanted to show them.

Stormy weather.  I do take care of these.

Front field

Wildflowers

These gallardia have bloomed all winter, and they are still going.

Wonderful roses!
My Wisteria puts on a few blooms in the summer. I think it is a response to the gentle pruning I give it to keep it from taking over the whole place.
We had almost two inches rain over the week-end.
Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

So much going on! Our roses are nearly done, but we had a wonderful if brief rose season because of all the June rains. Now it is daylily season.

My roses would probably continue blooming if I fed and pruned (they need spraying too) but I am giving them a rest while I attempt to finish this 3000+ sq foot rose garden.

@ Lea, I had no idea wisteria did that...noted.

Your Wisteria and Rose blooms are wonderful. So glad I got to stop and visit your garden! Happy GBBD!

What Lea said: Mine do that too.

@Lee, the wisteria, though I have some are not blooming. I volunteer at a museum and theirs was blooming..

@Nell and/or Lea...does it do that every year? Bloom twice, I mean?

Wisteria has that one big show of blooms in late spring. Through the summer and fall there will be scant blooms off and on in response to the pruning that attempts to keep it in bounds.

Your garden is looking great! You have made a ton of progress! And you have a ton of blooms. Your zinnias look so very pretty next to your porch.

@Holley...you want to hear irony...my mother called and said it looked beautiful. As did you. When I was taking pictures for bloom day, I thought it my gardens looked horrible and neglected...sometimes you get so close to a concept you forget the big picture...perhaps it doesn't look that bad, but I expect better this fall. Thanks for the boost.
