Lighting...Gardens are not only for the day time

During the holidays, I hung tons of chinese lanterns above the driveway.  These lanterns probably get more lip service than anything else.  All of these driveway lights are solar...they are fabulous at night and relatively cheap.  You can find them at Lowe's for about 10 dollars.  The reason why I was bringing this up, because it's raining and I like for inspiration.  I am learning not to cut and paste images from the web (anymore).  However, I ran across this and it evidently lets you Google+ and download the album...if this is an incorrect thing to do let me know...I presume that is permission...but this is the LINK

It is called Buchart Gardens...it is beautiful during the day, but with lighting...it does give a WOW factor.  When I complete the plantings, mulching, irrigating, driving myself crazy, the last thing I will address is lighting.  If you go to the link you can see what it looks like during the day.  It's beautiful but man, does the lighting just  do wonders.  I think this garden is in England....look at the link and you can see the it's pretty during the day but awesome at dusk...it probably doesn't hurt that you are elevated too in this picture...BY the way...to be clear, THIS ISN'T MY PICTURE OR MY GARDEN....

Below are my pictures and my gardens showing the lighting I have in place thus far.
Closest as I can get to show what it looks like at night..remember it's solar ..hang it and forget it....

This is my favorite lantern....it shows a very spooky blue hue at night...it is like 30 or 40 feet in the air..if you are wondering how we got it up there...think, swinging a weighted string over a limb (a hundred times) and hoisting it up there....  It was on sale at Lowes for 25 ...it's big too..

Cheap solar spike you can find at Walmart etc for about 2 dollars

Some lights are little more expensive and light pathways

Now I don't like all the color...this is leftovers from the holidays but I will be replacing them with all white lanterns for spring...it is amazing to walk the driveway with them....they are romantic...so next time you are at Lowes....visit the lighting section and buy a chinese lantern....I promise you'll love it.

I think the colored lantern add a touch of character. It is always a pleasure to see a bit of color among the trees. It just kind of makes you smile.

None of my solar items worked out very well; maybe if they were better quality I would have better results.

In the summer I hang little dollar store Chinese lanterns in the greenhouse for color/decoration.

I have loved them here..I don't like the string ones but the large ones have lasted a very, very long time.....

@LTB..I want to do that with the back or maybe the front...but I still want to figure out if it is white light one colored flowers or colored lights too....

What breathtaking light gardens! It's like one of those gardens that I used to see on a fairytale movies. The only difference is, this one is true, and I'm so impressed by it. It’s really attractive!
