The exhaustion of the season is really taken hold. The tulips are blooming. It has rained about 8 inches in the last 24 hours...and my sweet husband is picking up the tiller for the peacock's tail. If I were not so tired, I would feel guilty for not having progressed further but soon April 15 will arrive (I hope). Hanging on....
This blog is a chronicle of a beginner's attempt at growing roses in South Alabama (Zone 8b).

The Good, Bad & Ugly
Per Nell of Secrets of a Seed Scatterer, I planted confederate jasmine....I hope she forgives me for not stopping by more often. She, probably, knows more about gardening than I will ever know.
This will be a short post because it's late and I'm exhausted after the very long hours of being a CPA during tax season, but I put the confederate jasmine in the ground. Forgive any readers, but I am a novice. Somethings, I feel I know better. But if I waited until I got it perfect it would be 10 years before I got in the ground. As a very memorable conversation I once had, make a mess. I took this to mean that better to do something than nothing, most times. I will screen the bottom. The frame is approximately 100 cubic feet so I am considering giving the frame a filler with the outlying aspect to be spangum moss. I am concerned the 4 confederate jasmine might an overkill in the future but such as it is....it's a learning experience for me.
Once screen, filled, and chicken wired, I will intertwine the jasmine. At least that is theory. I staggered them to create the most coverage, ...again, that is my theory.
Will screen the bottom of the frame. Put a non spanghum moss filler, spanghum moss, and then start tying off the vine.
The weed killer has finally killed the plants and now I will till this part.
I am going to section off parts of the frame so the moss doesn't settle.
We will see how this goes
The topiary may not be as beautiful as the other, but will be as big.
Tulips are starting to bloom

March Bloom Day
It's Garden Blogger's bloom Day. If you are not familiar with, it's where garden blogger's from around the world post what is blooming in their garden, on May Dream's Gardens. I invite you to visit there and see what is beautiful today!
I have been horribly neglectful of my garden this spring. I am a cpa and it's tax season but for some reason, my spring fever has been delayed. So I will post what is blooming in it's general location.
Front of the house.

Bought confederate jasmine for the peacock topiary
Museum I volunteer at, next door.
Aside notes...replace outside door lanterns. The peacock topiary is coming along. I think I finally got the grass killed and will till it soon.
