What a lovely Dahlia! They make such great arrangements. Mama used to grow Dahlias for making Church bouquets; big vases with nothing but Dahlias are impressive.
You asked about greenhouse and heat -- a big exhaust fan and a misting set-up will only lower temps to barely tolerable.
Some Tropicals don't mind being on the floor under mist. They think they're in the jungle. I'm trying to move everything outside.
Last year I rigged curtains on the west end for a little shade.
Then they can certainly tolerate some heat. Right now, the visqueen is tore on my green house so it is covered by a tarp which I feel makes it cooler. Those are dinnerplate dahlias. My mystic haze dahlia is struggling a bit...I am not sure if I am getting the watering thing right...but they do make perfect flowers.
